The successful Eco-Arts team is now looking for new members who help to plan, host and coordinate our Salons and other environmental art projects. The Environmental Arts Initiative is a volunteer run program that brings community together through a combined interest in the arts & culture and our environment.
Members of the Eco-Arts committee meet every 4th Wednesday between 5:30-6:30pm at the Roundhouse before the Eco-Arts Salon. Attending the monthly team meetings is a fun way to meet others who are excited about making a difference in their community through mutual interests in the environment and arts. Below are the current available positions we seek to fill and associated tasks.
Event Photographer
(commitment: approx. 8 hours per month)
- Handles photo release form at events.
- Attends Eco-Arts events and photographs Salons and special projects for CACV promotion.
- Attends monthly Eco-Arts meetings.
- Edits photographs & uploads to social media.
- Responsible for supplying photographs to event blogger and presenters.
- Participates in the annual selection committee of future Eco-Art Salon presenters.
- Note: for this position the volunteer must have their own SLR camera.
Eco-Arts Newsletter Editor
(Commitment: approx. 12 hours per month)
- Attends monthly Eco-Arts meetings.
- Attends Eco-Arts Salons and special project events, gathering information on these and other events around Vancouver.>
- Writes monthly Eco-Arts newsletter introduction and formats newsletter with the use of constant contact.
- Participates in the annual selection committee of future Eco-Art Salon presenters.
- Must have some experience with basic computer skills. Ideally will have some knowledge of constant contact and an interest in writing.
Eco-Arts Marketing Specialist
(Commitment: approx. 12 hours per month)
- Attends monthly Eco-Arts team meetings.
- Assists in writing basic press releases for monthly events.
- Advertises Eco-Arts events through newspaper listings, e-postings and social media (facebook, twitter).
- Assists the Eco-Arts team in developing and implementing a marketing strategy.>
- Participates in the annual selection committee of future Eco-Art Salon presenters.
