We will be offering five half-day (or evening) workshops in a variety of Vancouver locations in January. Two volunteer assistants are needed to work with a professional artist and community group.
The sessions will teach skills on working with invasive or abundant natural materials and the group will create a snake sculpture as part of our “Year of the Snake” Lunar New Year project.
The role involves helping at the session by organizing materials, assisting participants, taking registration names, photo releases, taking photos and writing blog entries.
One of the volunteers is needed to have a vehicle for taking materials to and from various locations.
Dates are not yet established, but they will be in January or early February.
Ideally volunteers also attend the December 11 Eco-Arts salon and are available for the Lunar New Year parade and installation at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Garden on February 10.
Some knowledge of the Chinese zodiac and traditions around lunar new year would be a bonus.
Once established, we will post dates here.
