Bud Osborn, a beloved poet and amazing activist passed away on May 6th, 2014.
Many who remembered Bud knew him as a tireless advocate for better living conditions for the residents in the Downtown Eastside. He expressed many of his ideas through the beautiful poetry that he read in many churches and community places.
He inspired so many to take a stand for a better neighbourhood and became a beacon of light for others when their hearts were shrouded by darkness.
Bud was a hope for many. He represented the many struggles of the people living in the Downtown Eastside and turned these experiences into powerful prose. As a tribute to Bud, this is him reading his poem, 1000 Crosses in Oppenheimer Park, thansk to Liz Evans.
