What are the best practices for community-engaged art projects in the Downtown Eastside? The Community Arts Unconference is a forum for grassroots knowledge about the ethics, aesthetics, and logistics of such projects. Speakers will share from their (often extensive) experience in fostering community-led renewal in the DTES. Learn how to avoid common pitfalls and misconceptions so that you can plan for a project that succeeds, or simply enhance your knowledge of what is already happening in this arts-intensive neighbourhood.
CACV has been funding arts-projects in Vancouver’s DTES through the Community Arts Fund since 2011. Many of these collaborative projects will be presenting their work.
