Our Eco-Arts Salon on this coming Wed is about “cross-pollinating community” or Art+Bees=Community.
Chloe Bennettof Bees Please fame is leaving Vancouver and isn’t able to do a presentation. Instead, what we’ll have is:
1. Mary Bennett will talk about how she got interested in bees through being interested in art and community. She has now done two Kitsilano Bee Walks from 5th and Trafalgar along to the community garden at 6th and Cypress. See Mary’s neighbourhood blog for more details.
2. Sara Orchard, Green Streets program coordinator for the City of Vancouver will talk about how gardening, art and traffic circles are working together to support community. She will showcase some of the wonderful projects that some of the Green Streets gardeners have brought to the program.
3. GoGoBonkers will sing a few songs for us. They specialize in music for kids that gives a serious message about the environment in a (very!) fun manner.
Do feel free to bring posters, brochures etc. for a sharing table.
