We are currently seeking artists for an art-making workshop and a dialogue session. This presentation will engage you and your work with the public with opportunities for feedback, networking and community participation. The objectives of the dialogue series are to support local artists, explore social issues, facilitate networking, share resources and explore and increase awareness of social benefits of community engaged arts in Vancouver.
Artists will be required to present and discuss their own practices, facilitate community members in art-making and engage in the sharing of stories with the participants.
The subject of these two sessions is Interculturalism. The presenting artists or groups will receive honorariums of $200.
These events will be held on Saturday, November 9th and Saturday, November 16th, 2013 at the UBC Learning Exchange (612 Main Street, Vancouver) from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.
Requirements
– Artists must live, work or have strong community connections in the Downtown Eastside;
– Practices must be visual or performing arts;
– Artists must be available for both sessions;
– Previous experience or background in projects relating to interculturalism is preferred.

Please submit your profile or CV along with a description of the type of art making you would like to present and up to three photographs of you and your work by email to diana@cacv.ca. Please include your telephone number in your email.
Deadline
Please submit your proposal no later than midnight, Sunday, October 27, 2013. The selected artists will be advised by email on Wednesday, October 30, 2013.
