Reframing Relations is having a very successful year, showing a continued growth in it’s programming over the last 3 years. After establishing a strong connection within community centres, and high schools, the program has expanded its offerings to include elementary schools (grade 4 and up).
Thanks to the support of Vancity’s Community Partnership program, the Community Arts Council of Vancouver received $10 000 in funding. This funding has helped deliver over 60 Reframing Relations workshops, with more on the way.
With the growing demand of the programs, a recent call out was made, and we are happy to introduce 4 additional artist facilitators to the Reframing Relations Team. The artists are:
Mallory Amirault, Andi Lcaza-Largaespada, Frankie McGee, and Will Weigler. All these artists bring a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and diverse art practices that will help build on the momentum that Reframing Relations has achieved thus far.
One significant highlight was an opportunity to present Reframing Relations at Vancity’s Global Alliance for Banking on Values Summit 2019 held at the Museum of Vancouver. Pictured here are Jo Billows and Jillian Christmas, sharing their spoken word, and engaging the audience on concepts of Reconciliation. Special thanks to the Museum of Vancouver, and Vancity for making it possible for us to share this work.
“Please let your team know how impressed we were with their presentations, knowledge and their ability to engage and connect with people.” – Mauro Viscera, CEO Museum of Vancouver
